Riding the velo polare is not just fun on short distances. Despite popular belief, the Velo polare is perfectly capable of traveling longer distances up to 200km with luggage. And the big plus of riding an s-pedelec is the abbility to travel the couise speed you like. Get the perfect rythim of performance and speed for such a long trip is a huge benefit. Mine is between 25 and 34 kph – a speed where all pedelecs are restricted to 27 and producing an unnatural frequency in higher and lower speed and poweroutput. The velo polare is basically a arctic fox on wheels – it can run very fast, or long distances and are not tamed by the 27kph speedlimit. Its wild and that also needs sometimes more attention.

This time, I visited a good friend and took a tour from Mönchengladbach to Gelsenkirchen and back. Using the long-distance bikelanes across the Ruhrgebiet, forests and crossing many many bridges with also some spectacular views that was worth the detour.
